Hosted by the Happy Hoofers Chapter on January 9th to the 11th, 2026. Click here to learn more and RSVP for this special event.
The fun will begin on Friday evening, check in after 3 pm. with a potluck at 6 in the dining hall and a campfire after dinner. They have carts to take your gear out to the camping area from the parking lot. There are picnic tables under a pavilion in the camp area with electrical outlets in case you wish to prepare your own food.
We have a great lineup of speakers for Saturday following our theme of "Wild & Scenic Florida". There will also be two hikes available on Saturday, one short (2 miles), one longer (5 miles). For those who like to paddle, we will offer a paddle on the Loxahatchee River in the afternoon. You can bring your own kayak/canoe, or we will have canoes to rent.
After dinner Saturday evening, we will adjourn to the beautiful outdoor amphitheater with the fire pit at the base. One of the chapters will provide musical entertainment and fun games around the campfire. Star gazing is amazing on a clear night.
There will be the usual Wuz-Nu raffle of used camping related equipment and a Silent Auction for new or bigger ticket equipment. These are great ways for newer members to find gently used equipment to start out with, see if you really like camping/backpacking/paddling/ etc. for less investment. When you decide you really like it, then you might upgrade and invest more $ into newer, fancier gear.
There will be camping available at the Scout camp with restrooms nearby with handicap accessible toilets and hot water showers.
There will be limited availability of dorm rooms. These have 2 single beds with an attached bathroom with toilet, sink, and shower. The rest room is shared with another dorm room off the other side of the bathroom.
For those with a camper van, RV, or just wishing to sleep in their vehicle, they are allowing us to park and camp in the gravel parking lot. We will mark off an area for camping. There are no hookups for water/sewer, you will need to use the restroom nearby. Charges will be the same as campers. If you want a regular RV campsite with amenities, Jonathan Dickinson State Park is about 20 minutes away, subject to availability (reserve early).
We always have lots of fun, I'm so excited you are thinking of joining us!
Meals need to be reserved by December 15.
