Micco Celebration Hike – Saturday, February 28
Join the Tropical Trekkers Chapter of the Florida Trail Association for our annual fundraiser, the Micco Celebration Hike!
In 2018, the Tropical Trekkers played a major role in establishing the Micco Bluff section of the Florida Trail, a 11.9-mile reroute between the Micco Landing Trailhead and Oak Creek Trailhead. This project eliminated more than 8 miles of road walking along Micco Bluff Road. Each spring, we celebrate this accomplishment with a community hike through this scenic section of trail.
Event Details
Hike distance: Approximately 10 miles - Shorter options available (hike in-and-out at your own pace)
Trail runners: Opportunity to run a full marathon (Please notify us in advance so an additional rest station can be set up)
Shuttles available to the north end of the trail, or pickup for hikers traveling northbound.
Rest stations along the route.
Continental breakfast (including Natalie’s juice) & Event swag
Safety and tracking support provided by Highlands County ham radio operators.
Primitive camping available.
Donations are appreciated and can be made by cash or check on the day of the event.
