It’s a weekend of walks, and boy, do we need them!
Start your day off with Debbie Levi on her highly popular Miami River Hike Part 1 and end it with a leisurely walk to see the setting sun and welcome the moonrise with Brooke Gaebe! Here’s your chance to relax with friends, nibble on snacks or dinner and watch the beautiful Wolf full moon rise over the ocean! This easy walk is at the R. Hardy Matheson County Preserve (not to be confused with the Matheson Hammock Park to its north!)
Meeting location: R. Hardy Matheson County Preserve, 11100 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables. It is on the north side of the Snapper Creek canal and east side of Old Cutler Rd. Meet at the entrance just behind the gate. The preserve is a tucked-away gem of a park offering fishing and boating and a rustic hiking trail leading to great views.
Parking location: 13800 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables.
Parking at the entrance of the park is not allowed. Please park just over the bridge south of the canal on the side of Old Cutler Rd. close to the fire station and walk back to the entrance.
Meeting Time: Walk will begin promptly at 6:00pm so we can get to the ocean to see the moonrise.
Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to allow time to park, walk over, and sign in.
Meet at the gate at the R Hardy Preserve.
