Park Service Day Volunteering - Matheson Hammock Coastal Cleanup (9:00 AM - 1:00 PM)
On Saturday, March 25th, Big Cypress Chapter is getting our hands dirty so that we can clean up our coast! Come join us on our first coastal clean-up of the season at the beautiful and historic Matheson Hammock Park, as we try to raise awareness about marine debris and encourage people to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics.
We will be assisting the Matheson Hammock staff to beautify this coastal park and do our part to help keep our ocean ecosystem healthy. Gloves and trash bags are provided, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own reusable gloves and tools to reduce waste.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Removing microplastics and trash
- Pulling exotic plant species
- Additional tasks as needed
